The first thing I'll say is "Wow!" I was in France in May on a solo cycling trip and was very lucky to stay here for one night. If this place had been in the United States, it would have cost two or three times as much. To be able to stay in such a historic structure was a real treat. The hospitality was exceptional and the dining room, with its incredible fireplace for cooking, has a rich history.

For years and years we have simply loved the Hotel de l' Abbaye as much as our stay on the banks of the Loire in Beaugency ...The Hotel de L' Abbaye is not only a very individual and spacious hotel where, despite the age of the old building, you can find all the comfort and professional service you need as a traveller. The Abbaye is also a place where you can feel completely free as if you were at home.The Abbaye is also a place where you can feel completely at home, thanks to the friendly style in which Didier and his team welcome their guests. The atmosphere of the calm of centuries past within the walls of the old building is not so much depressing as more restful than the professional and educational alertness that often greets us in city hotels or large chains. There are a thousand reasons to enjoy travelling through France... the Hotel de l'Abbaye is one of them.
The hotel is a monument in itself. The impression of being in another era is striking. Comfort has not been neglected, quite the contrary. An ideal location for watching the equally historic bridge over the Loire. An address not to be missed on the way to the Loire châteaux.
