Oh my God! An incredibly charming and exotic experience! We loved spending the night in this unusual place, which retains its character without neglecting modern comfort. As for breakfast, it was very high-quality and generous, not to mention the direct view of the Loire. Finally, the staff are very pleasant. I’ll arrange to return there on a future trip to the area!
Wonderful and authentic place, still steeped in its history, clearly the management’s enthusiastic choice for dining, on the occasion of a stay of a few days. The setting is very pleasant: lounges, dining room, good-sized bedroom, car park—and a delicious and generous breakfast with authentic products, particularly from monasteries. I highly recommend it! What a wonderful hotel, and at a really great price! The interiors are breathtaking and give the impression of a genuine journey back to the Middle Ages. The atmosphere is incredibly authentic and the staff are exceptionally kind and welcoming. I really hope that more people stay there in order to preserve this magnificent historic building.The bathrooms seem to have been recently renovated and the rooms were warm and spacious.
Don't forget that this is a place steeped in history, built in the 11th century. It isn't a «classic» hotel. As you might expect, there is no lift, which explains its three stars. The atmosphere is exceptional and the town is full of charm. The restaurant is run by monks and offers organic, locally sourced cuisine. You can enjoy an abbey beer there while reading a book by the fireplace. Greater investment in marketing would be desirable, as this gem deserves to be better known.
Historic building for a hotel with a great deal of charm. Beautiful view over the Loire, from the room or the breakfast room and terrace. There are a few minor drawbacks, due to the fact that it is an old building (stairs and no lift, no air conditioning or central heating, for example), but we enjoyed our stay and loved the breakfast.
A wonderful place! We booked it for two days to visit the surrounding castles. Our room overlooking the Loire, with its old-world charm and luxurious bathroom, was simply fantastic! Breakfast offered an excellent selection of regional products: freshly baked baguette, freshly squeezed orange juice and a delicious selection of cheeses, for example! Highly recommended!
I tried to book online on the hotel's website and, after entering all my personal information, my card payment was declined. The amount was €0! My email went unanswered. This is not a service worthy of the name.Thanks for nothing.
A very pleasant stay thanks to the kindness of the staff, especially the young woman at reception, and throughout our stay. MADAM, don't change a thing and thank you!! Lovely hotel, well located. Please note that the restaurant is closed until May; it's a shame, as the end of the season is beautiful and we would have liked to enjoy it, knowing that having an on-site restaurant was one of the criteria for choosing the hotel. It would be good to state this clearly on your website.
Charming hotel with a superb view of the Loire. Congratulations on restoring this site, which immerses us in the serene atmosphere of the abbey. Top-notch staff at reception and in the restaurant (a little wink to Bienvenu, the star of the place). And the rotisserie, which delighted our taste buds!
